Social Media Policy
Durham county show has a social media policy. This policy applies to everyone who uses our services as a visitor to the show. A competitor at the show. A trader or service provider. We ask that you all read the policy before attending in any of the above capacities. By attending you are agreeing to have read the policy, understand its contents and instructions contained within. You are also. agreeing to abide by the policy in all forms.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND INTERNET POLICY
Durham County Show hereinafter referred to as DCS implemented this policy on 1/9/2022
This was updated on 1/3/2023. It is a condition of entry by all competitors, traders, service providers and the general public (spectators) that they agree to adhere in full to this policy. Persons who violate this policy will be subject to removal and a lifelong ban from all DCS events. This action extends to all stock owned (full/partnership/loaned) or produced by any of the persons listed above. Entries & tickets purchased by banned persons will be forfeit/cancelled, refunds will not be made.
1. Introduction
a) DCS acknowledges the importance of the internet and social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, home webpages, chat rooms, TiK Tok and all other forms of electronic communication and the role which “social media” plays in the day to day lives of us all.
b) This policy note is to remind our users that the rules of DCS apply to all when using social media and the internet. Failure to adhere to this policy will lead to disciplinary measures being taken as outlined above. By using our services, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by our policy detailed hereinafter.
2. Using social media
a. You should be aware that DCS may from time to time carry out internet searches to identify postings which include references to DCS its staff and service users.
b. DCS produced images and any and all related published materials are the subject of copyright and should not be copied or used in social media without written consent. This is an extension of our copyright rules which prohibit the copying and reproduction of materials owned by us.
c. You should ensure that any material that you transmit or post to social media is clearly stated to be your personal view and is not held out to be, or could be mistaken as, the view of DCS.
d. You must not post or transmit any material which could damage the name or reputation of DCS, its staff or service users, or which is derogatory to the character of, or prejudicial to, the interests of DCS.
e. You must not post or transmit any material relating to DCS its events and results thereof. Any concerns relating to our events should be put in writing or emailed to us durhamcountyshow@outlook.com
f. You must not post or transmit any material that could otherwise be associated with or which may reasonably be attributed as coming from DCS, that is threatening, defamatory, obscene, indecent, seditious, offensive, pornographic, abusive, liable to incite racial hatred, discriminatory, menacing, scandalous, inflammatory, blasphemous, in breach of confidence, in breach of privacy or which may cause annoyance, distress or inconvenience; or ii. which constitutes or encourages conduct that would be in breach of the DCS rules, or constitutes a criminal offence, or which could give rise to civil liability, or otherwise be contrary to the laws of, or infringe the rights of any third party in, the UK or any other country in the world.
g. Any breach of this policy note may constitute a breach of the DCS rules and could also lead to civil and/or criminal proceedings being brought against you. DCS will also pass on any and all findings that constitute a breach of our policies to Breed societies and sporting governing bodies. We will ask that said bodies take further and necessary disciplinary actions. Persons in breach forfeit any prize money or prizes. Entries and tickets purchased will become void.
3. Disclosure under Law or Regulation
You should be aware that DCS will fully co-operate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing DCS to disclose the identity or locate anyone posting any material in breach of this policy. If we are requested by the police or any other regulatory or government authority investigating suspected illegal activities to provide your personal information, the DCS is entitled to do so.
